What do we mean by Accept Not Expect?
Most of the relationships become shallow because of the high expectations that the people set for others. And no matter how hard the other person may try, they may fail somewhere in standing upon your expectations. That’s when you get disappointed in them.
Let us for an example assume that you are expecting your boyfriend to propose you with a beautiful diamond ring that you would be able to flaunt among your friends. But your boyfriend proposes you with a fragile gold ring. Although he proposed you with the same love, your expectations will get shattered and your response will not be as it would have been otherwise.
This is a very common problem not just among couples but between all relations where we start expecting from others. Those expectations never let us accept the person for who they really are.
So this week’s advice is, “Accept, Not Expect.”
