And the New Miss Universe for 2011 is…
Leila Lopes from Angola!!!
She was crowned Miss Universe 2011 by beating 88 competitors in a hi-fi ceremony in Sao Paolo, Brazil, this Monday night.
25 year old Leila Lopes is the first ever winner for this title from Angola.
Last Monday night the 60th anniversary of the World’s Biggest and Most Watched Beauty Pageant was aired, in which Leila Lopes from Angola replaced Ximena Navarrete, last year’s winner from Mexico.
When asked about her physical appearance Leila Lopes responded as follows: “I’m very satisfied with the way God created me and I wouldn’t change a thing.”
“I consider myself a woman endowed with inner beauty. I have acquired many wonderful principles from my family and I intend to follow these.”
Many fashion critics believed that Miss USA Alyssa Campanella might be the first American winner for Miss Universe title since 1997. But it wasn’t supposed to be.
As for the runners up, China’s Luo Zilin came in fourth, the Philippines’ Shamcey Supsup was third, Brazil’s Priscila Machado came second and Ukraine’s Olesia Stefanko was the first runner-up.
The very controversial Heidi Montag also performed at the star studded ceremony for Miss Universe 2011.
