The movie “Beneath the Darkness” is about 4 school friends, Travis (Tony Oller), Abby (Aimee Teegarden), Brian (Stephen Lunsford) and Danny (Devon Werkheiser). These 4 get curious about a local mortician named Ely Vaughn (Dennis Quaid) who is a former quarterback player of their school but now has become very reclusive since his wife died.
They decide to spy on him and they see him through his house window dancing with another woman. The 4 friends even decide to go into his house later to find who that mysterious woman is. Once entered, they discover Ely’s secret. When Ely finds out that his secret has been discovered, he leaves no stone unturned to make them quiet once and for all.
Director Martin Guigui has created a very unique and memorable psychological thriller that is “Beneath the Darkness.” This movie is well distinguished from the modern horror thriller films that flash a lot of blood and gore.
