But we are going to give you tips that will also keep you at safe side.

Let the tour begin.

1. Calculate your time of actual work.

The last thing you want to do is look very busy and fail to give the work at deadline.

What you can do it calculate the time it will take for you to complete the work given to you 10 minutes earlier than the deadline. So if you have 3 hours to do the work and you know you can do it in 2 hours, you can either take few minutes break between work and still complete work on time or what you can do is dedicate 2 hours completely to work and finish it off [recommended].

Now you have 1 hour to spend. You can spend this one hour doing fun stuff but yet looking busy.

You don’t want to give the work one hour before because your boss will give you another work to do. So you are going to give it 10 minutes before to make an impression.

2. The more messy table, the more you are caught up in work.

Keep your table filled with project files, chart sheets, rough paper work, brain storming papers, notes, pencil, pen etc. You may want to remove that box full of last year’s files related to your project.

This will make your table look full and if your boss asks why your table is messy you can tell them that you wanted to make sure you don’t repeat last years mistakes so you were not only doing this years work but also re-reading last years files.

3. Spend leisure time on laptop/computer but pretend like working.

When you are reading a novel or watching a movie, don’t leave your hands off the laptop and don’t constantly stare at the screen. Keep your hands on the laptop so everyone thinks you are working.

Once in every few minutes rattle some papers, files and notes around you and scribble something on the paper giving the impression that you are researching something and writing down notes for it.

4. Take your boss’s opinion & ask him questions.

Go at least one time and maximum 3 times to your boss and ask him about his opinion about the work you are doing. Ask him questions related to the work as well.

Don’t ask stupid questions as it will show that you are not good enough. Make sure you ask strong solid questions even if you know the answers to them.

5. Take a hold on other’s mind into thinking you are working.

While working or pretending to work, ask valid questions to your co-workers and give them orders. If you the others are working on the same project as you are ask them about their status, updates and any new changes.

You can give orders to the employees below you related to their department to make the perfect busy impression. Like you can say, “Peter, can you give me Lerner Group of Industry’s Kapala project file. I want to read the numbers of our collaboration with them.”

After you have finished saying that make sure you say, “Can you get me in 5 minutes. I need that quick.”

6. Create the busy look.

Fold your cuffs up, loosen your tie, remove the coat and hang it around carelessly.

This will show that you are very busy with the work and are going head to toe digging deep in the work. What you also need to do is, don’t look around at anyone passing by and don’t answer anyone on their first call.

If someone passes by you a couple of times and then comes back again, tell them “Hey there. Where were you?” and they will let you know that they passed by you a couple of times. That’s when you get to say, “Oh didn’t see you there.”

7. Talk in office language to your friends or special people on the phone.

This is the best way to spend time in a fun way while looking busy. Call in your pal, buddy or spouse and talk to them in office language. If they have a good humor, they will play along with you while other’s hearing your conversation will assume you are getting some information from other department.

Like if you want to know if Claire has her party confirmed and what’s the place, you can say something this way, “Has miss Claire confirmed her meeting with the engaged delegates? Oh that’s great. What time will the meeting start? Around 5 should be difficult. Can you call miss Claire’s secretary and confirm it for 6 PM? Also ask for the venue. “
