“There was nobody there for me to look at and say this is unhealthy. I want to be that for a 13-year old girl deciding whether or not to eat dinner, or an 18-year-old girl deciding whether or not to keep her breakfast down.” – Demi Lovato
The Disney Teen Pop Star, Demi Lovato‘s “physical and emotional issues” have been quite a lot in the light since she joined Hollywood drama. But this teenage pop sensation wants to be open and be a role model because of them instead of shutting down.
Demi Lovato, 19, who has been reported to cut herself and fell into extreme eating disorders recorded an episode at the ‘Ellen DeGeneres Show’ that will be on air this Tuesday.
On the show, she said that she would like to be “outspoken” about her issues and would love to talk freely about them to help other such girls like Lovato who “was dealing with the pressures to be thin”.
“It was the time in the tabloids when very, very skinny girls were on the cover of every magazine, and that’s what I was looking up to,” she says.
“That’s what I had to idolize. But I don’t want that for young girls.”
She also called her old life a “mess,” Live on the show but she said that “it is what it is”.
“In fact”, she reportedly said. “I am actually very grateful for my meltdown.”
“So many things were going great in my life, and then all of a sudden my personal life just went down at crazy speeds.” The singer of the hit song ‘Skyscraper’ said.
“I had a negative breakdown and it changed my life forever.”
“But if I hadn’t gone into treatment,” she continued to say, “I don’t know if, one, I’d even be sitting here today, or two, if I’d even be alive today.”
We are also very grateful that such a kind of honest Disney Starlet, Demi Lovato is alive and in between us and we hope that everyone who reads this take it seriously and takes inspiration from her traumas. We commend Demi Lovato for being upfront about her life story.
