Often when you ask some kids about why they chose a certain field for career, they reply saying, “My Dad wanted me to do it.” That kid who has taken up that field of career just because of his dad may become high in his parent’s eyes but never will he be able to walk in that life with the same passion as a kid who personally loves that field.
Some parents have the habit of imposing their dreams upon their kids and they brain drain their kids so much that they start believing that it is their own dream.
Parents, please don’t do this. If you wanted to become a Doctor and life didn’t allow you, don’t make it a point that your kid will become a Doctor because he/she will have dreams of his own. They may follow your dreams silently but deep inside he will always be thinking about what his life would have been had he chosen to follow a dream of his own.
They will never ever be able to accomplish your dream with personal satisfaction no matter how much they try because any profession, any work and any career requires passion.
Don’t give your kids a chance to say, “I chose this career because my parents wanted,”
Let them be proud enough to say, “My parents wanted me to become a Doctor, but they supported me when I said I wanted to be a Fashion Designer.”
