Drive Movie Review- Is It What Guys Are Looking For?

Drive Movie Poster

Having heard a lot about Drive – Get In, Get Out, Get Away!!! and having the flair for movies that involve cars and racing I knew Drive would be a great movie.

The trailer of the movie triggered my curiosity and the first scene in the trailer almost made me jump out of the seat and grab the entire movie from the screen.

Well, having watched the movie, here is my honest review.

Ryan Gosling plays as the unnamed character of the movie. I pretty much loved the concept of keeping the main character of the movie unnamed. So in the movie, he is “The Driver,” and I have no complains when it comes to him. His acting was great and the character he was responsible was played well.

He had very few dialogues in the movie and most of his talking were therefore communicated through his actions or facial expressions. He completely did justice to his character.

I liked the story concept of the movie where The Driver secretly drives the criminals from their crime scene to a safe location. His driving skills and alert mind are his weapons.

Carey Mulligan played as Irene, has a son and is neighbor to The Driver.

Whats the story?

Nah!!! No more spoilers

The disappointment of the movie was that it went as slow as a snail. I could very well get up, bring my tuna sandwich and come back to find that the movie hasn’t moved much (okay I exaggerated a bit there).

Drive movie is DEFINITELY NOT ABOUT DRIVING. It has a very few driving scene and the rest of the movie is about, yeah everything else.

So is it what guys are looking for? Concept being good, a little more focus on driving and racing scenes would have sure got us a straight YES but unfortunately no.

If you want to watch Drive Movie, don’t expect much of driving, racing and action scenes. Keep your expectations low and you will enjoy the movie.
