Ethereal Catherine Zeta Jones Diagnosed With Bipolar Disorder

The famous Hollywood ethereal beauty of late, Catherine Zeta Jones, has sought out mental health treatment for herself after the stressful period of being by husband’s Micheal Douglas’ side during his fight for cancer.

“After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her Bipolar II disorder,” her rep has said in a statement. “She’s feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films.”

The beautiful Catherine Zeta Jones, aged 41, has spent almost five days in some unidentified mental health facility without anyone’s notice, a source told the People Magazine.

Bipolar disorder is an extreme psychological illness that consists of elevated and irritating swinging moods and also alternates with periods of dark depression. About 6 million American people are afflicted by this condition. Bipolar patients have more extreme depression that goes on for longer periods and the “up” days are very much dark and blue as well. This condition comes into play due to extreme stressed situations and traumas.

“There’s no question it’s been a stressful year,” Catherine‘s friend says. “Catherine has had to deal with Michael’s illness and that’s been hard. She went in for a few days because she’s about to start working, and wanted to make sure she’s in top form, which she is.”

Catherine Zeta Jones’ husband Micheal Douglas, aged 66, happily announced in January that he was free of all cancer after a hard 6 months period of chemotherapy and radiation treatment on the tumor that was growing on his tongue.

“The hardest part is seeing his fatigue, because Michael is never tired,” a heartbroken Zeta-Jones told People Magazine last year during her husband’s fight with cancer.

She also said that hubby Douglas told their children, Dylan aged 10 and Carys aged 7, the difficult news himself: “Daddy sat them down and told them he has cancer now.”

Now how difficult it must be for them to see their mother go through another trauma. We hope the best to the Jones’ and especially better health to Catherine Zeta Jones…and they deserve it!!
