Every House Owns A Distinct Smell

Home Sweet Home

Have you ever noticed that each house that you visit, has its own distinct smell?

It always amazed me to find distinct smells in my friends and families house and they always made me feel home and relaxed. But it also made me curious to find what my own house smells like, but every time I entered my own house, I would feel nothing.

Do you wonder why?

Well…. I also equally wondered why… So I did some research…

I found it very alluring and amazing to find out that the smell that each house possess is due to “occupant odor.”

OMG now what the hell is “Occupant Odor”?

Occupant odors are different odors that are present in the house almost all the time and they get occupied in where ever places they find such as spaces in sofa cushions, pillow, carpets, curtains, etc.

These odors may come from the fireplace, your everyday use detergents, candles, carpet perfume, room fresheners,  cooking smells, softeners, glass cleaners etc.

All these smells contribute, mix and forms that one smell that gives your house a distinct smell and a distinct identity.

This means that even your house has that distinct smell but you find nothing because you have been in that environment and breathing it so you cannot identify it.

These smells also help you relax or depress, so if you notice that you feel depressed soon as you enter your home, then you just might want to change that smell. All you have to do is get your house heavy cleaned, and then bring in new fragrances and say,

“Home Sweet Smelling Home”
