Flirty Katy Perry Is Single And Ready To Mingle, at least that is what she is telling the tabloids. Recently the news regarding Katy Perry And Russell Brand – Split Up was making rounds in the media that Katy Perry Disses Ex Russell Brand In Grammys Performance.

But Katy Perry has denied that her new single “Part Of Me”, which focuses on a bitter break-up, was written about ex-husband Russell Brand. She further goes on to reveal that she was told to say that it was so but “I won’t do it.”

This song was actually recorded in 2010 and was supposed to come on the “Teenage Dream” album but it didn’t. This song just recently came out in the re-release of her album titled “Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection.” She explained in a recent interview:

“Some people that I work with were like ‘You should just say you wrote it a couple of weeks ago,’ I’m like ‘I’m not a douchebag. I’m going to tell the truth.’ I always planned to put it out in the spring of this year, to possibly perform it at a big [awards show], but sometimes I’m like, ‘Am I living in The Truman Show? … what’s going on?’”

“Because I sit down and I write all these songs at once, all these emotions and feelings and thoughts, and then, like, it just feels like sometimes I’m caught in this movie where my life is paralleling my music! It seems very serendipitous, but, as un-fun as it sounds, I prepare everything. I’m overly prepared and kind of a control freak in the best of ways.”
