The comedic action film is an adaptation of writer Janet Evanovich’s first ever novel in the very famous Stephanie Plum book series. “One For the Money” is rumored to be start of a big franchise. The film is shot in Western Pennsylvania and has a storyline revolving around crime and mystery.
Stephanie Plum (Katherine Heigl) who is unemployed and loves to buy lingerie asks and convinces her cousin, Vinnie (Patrick Fischler) to take her up as the bounty hunter and give it a try. Her first ever assignment lands her in the pursuit of a former cop and murderer, Joe Morelli (Jason O’Mara) who also turns out to be the man who broke her heart a few years ago.
Unskilled in bounty hunting, Plum starts her mission and gets help from her friends and also the best Bounty Hunter there has ever been, Ranger (Daniel Sunjata). With their help, Stephanie Plum becomes a highly trained and famous bounty hunter. The movie trailer is hilarious (especially the granny part) with the typical Katherina Heigl flavor added.
Sherri Shepherd is also in the movie playing dual roles of two hookers who have hearts of silver. One of them is called Lula. This funny adaptation smells of fun and action woman-style and will be released on January 27, 2012.
